About Grow Westmoreland

Our Mission Statement

We connect young people in our community that are interested in careers in agriculture and skilled labor with training and employment opportunities.  Working together with local employers and trade schools, we invest in the future of our community, build strong relationships between trade schools and employers, and provide a pathway for young people to be successful within our community.

Who We Are

Grow Westmoreland is a non-profit organization operating in and serving Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.  The program’s focus is to provide training and scholarship opportunities for local individuals ages 18-25 that are interested in careers in agriculture and skilled labor.

Primary Focus of the Program

1. Establish partnerships between Grow Westmoreland, local employers, and trade schools to reduce or completely alleviate out of pocket training and education costs for potential workers through scholarship programs and tuition reimbursements.

2. Provide a local outreach program to area high schools in order to educate students about which skilled labor positions are in high demand in the area and provide information about Grow Westmoreland scholarship opportunities.

3. Establish an agricultural grant program for new agricultural projects and expansions of existing agricultural operations throughout Westmoreland County.
